10 Super Easy Ways For Writing Hypnotic Headlines

Want to know how to write hypnotic headlines that grab your readers, pull them out of their trances, hook them on the page and get them to read your first line?

Keep reading because I am going to be sharing with you my 10 Super Easy Ways For Writing Hypnotic Headlines.

Hey, Mate! I'm Teslimat, welcome!

In this blog, I talk about freelancing, copywriting, sales and sales psychology, marketing and marketing strategies, and entrepreneurial mindsets.

So, why are headlines really that important?

Because it's the first thing your readers would see when they come across your copy (or content)!

There are lots of arguments, between , pretend 'experts' and experts about just one thing.

How many Headlines should you write for a copy (or content) before getting your perfect hypnotic headline?

' Pretend Experts' said only 'amateurs'; someone that's not ready to earn a dime with copywriting, would write more than one Headline for a copy, and how wrong are they?

It was reported that Ogilvy wrote 104 Headlines for Royce Rolls Advertisement (You know that one? At 60 miles per hour...).

Ogilvy also believed strongly that 80% of all your clients' money are gained or lost in the Headline.

Why?

Because, only an average of 20 percent of your readers will make it past the headline.

If your headline doesn’t grab your readers, keep them curious, pull them off their trances, hook them on the page and get them to read your first line, they’ll click away in search of 'something better'.

But the good news is that a prominent headline can increase your readership rate by as much as 500 percent.

That is if you are to be currently getting 1000 readers for your copy using a medium headline, a prominent one would get you 5000!

Astounding, don't you think?

So it's settled, there is nothing wrong with having lots of headlines to test and choose from.

You can write as many as 100, 200 or as little as 20, 10.

Just make sure each of the headline obeys the Power of One ( that is, one promise per headline)

That being said, here are my 10 Super Easy Ways For Writing Hypnotic Headlines that grab your readers, pull them out of their trances, hook them on the page and get them to read your first line.

How to Write Headlines

1. Know both your readers

 And your offers (or topics)

The more you know about your readers (or target audience), the more effective your headlines become.

And The more you know about your offer (or topic), the most prominent your headlines would be.

If your offer (or topic) deals with a list of things and your audience love listicles, you'd better give it to them

Think of something like: 20 Reasons Why You Need A Sales Copy for this type of audience and you have them gamed on your copy (or content)

2. Share your readers' personal benefits

If you want people to read your headlines, then you want it to be about their personal benefits. Ask yourself what would my readers gain when they read this? The answer to that question should be your headlines.

Something like: 5 Ways To Keep Your Toilet Clean, would convey that the readers of this content would learn (gain knowledge of) how to keep their toilet clean in 5 different ways.

3. Grant your headlines the ability to be Unique

Your headline should be one of a kind, Unique and only for your copy (or content) because it makes you stand out and set you apart from the competition.

It’s quite easy to create headline that's unique and only for you even if the content has already been in existence, all you have to do is to come up with something that is not similar to those before it.

To do this use power words to make them unforgettable or use emotional words to add weight and empathy to your headlines.

Example: The Super Duper Easy Way To Earn More As A Freelancer Without Feeling All Stressed Up

You should also consider using superlatives or asking uncommon questions.

For Example: Do you know the most used word in English?

4. Make your headlines Ultra-specific and down to point

You have to narrow down your topic as far as you can, if you want your headlines to pull your readers out of their trances and ready to read your first line.

This allows your readers to know exactly what they would get when they read your copy.

Consider these two:

How To Write A Sales Copy

10-Step Formula For Writing An High Converting Sales Copy Even If You've Never Written One Before.

While the first one is okay, the second one is far more specific and it get the readers curious enough to stop and actually read the first line because it tells the readers exactly what they would be getting out of reading it and it also promise to cut fluff and get down to point.

The readers can also skip the intro and get down to 10-Step Formula

Don’t be afraid of using extra words as long it's not just for the length of it.

Just think of Gary Halbert's TOVA 9's headline:

The Amazing "Face-Lift-In-A-Jar" Used By Hollywood Stars Who Lose Their Jobs If They Don't Look Their Best!

Yes, you count that right! That is 107 characters! So stop using writing less than 77 characters headlines as an excuse for not writing hypnotic headlines

5. Let your headlines be Useful to your readers

As much as I want to say "Of course, this is obvious", I know it isn't and so do you! You just have to take a look at some blogs to know how difficult making your headlines useful to your readers is.

People only read things that are of use to them. Just like no lawyer would be interested in reading your medical reports unless it help their case, none of your readers would read your copy or content unless it help them in some ways.

That is, every copy (or content) you write should be of a specific use to your readers. It should tell a story, provide value, and allow your reader to gain something from it, whether it's knowledge or solution.

Take myself for an example, I just have to ask myself "what would my mate gain from reading this?" What you gain is "How to Write Hypnotic Headlines" and that can as well be the headline of this post.

6. Create Urgency in your headlines

If you can convince your reader that he needs to act, you'd better tell him to act now because people tend to procrastinate and forget.

Adding urgency to your headlines is different from writing time-bound headlines which can only be use for a short period of time.

Words like 'Today' 'Now' 'Missing Out' 'Stop & Start' and others can give your readers a sense of urgency to read your copy or content immediately.

Consider these:

How to make $250 a day

7 ways to start making $250 a day

Stop wasting your time of gimmicks and start making $250 a day

These headlines just get the readers hooked and reading because it promise to help your reader accomplish something faster through the use of shortcuts and better strategies.

7. Make your headline simple and easy to understand

While power words and emotional words can get your readers hooked and reading, and long words for convey your total meaning is amazing. You want to keep your headlines short, sweet, and simple, if that get your message across.

Something like Who Is A Copywriter? is actually than Who is The Professional That Write Copy?, don't you think?

Remember, there is no short and long headlines, there is only high and low converting headlines.

8. Address your reader as “You”

You have to make your reader know that your headlines is only meant for them and you can only achieve that by addressing your reader as if he is in front of you as you speak.

Like having a warm chat with a friend? Exactly!

Consider: Are You Ready To Make Your First $1000 As A Freelancer

Even though the 'You & Your' can be anyone, the reader thinks it's for her alone.

9. Include numbers and statistics in your headline

Numbers for some unique reasons catch attention and so do statistics. They just tend to stand out and pull you in.

Consider something like:

Why I like black coffee and...

19 reasons why 89% of freelancers like black coffee.

Notice how the number just pull you in and invoke your curiosity. You are thinking "what can the 19 reasons why 89% of freelancers like black coffee?" And then you want to read all 19 reasons, right?

10. Use a hyphen or colon in your headline

The right punctuations can drive your readers interest and invoke their curiosity.

Consider these three:

What do you think make the last two headlines amazing? Because the benefit of what the readers are about to read is mentioned at the beginning of the headline.
